New York の FICTION Gallery にてアーティストの伊藤咲穂さんと、旭化成の不織布「ECORISE」使用した展示「ReBORN」を開催しました。
「ReBORN」とは素材が時間の経過により美しく生まれ変わるという概念。
錆和紙作家の伊藤咲穂さんが「ECORISE」に錆を組み合わせることによって、素材が時間の重なりにより、美しく生まれ変わるという、ReBORNの概念を表したインスタレーションや、錆び行く過程を映像として表現したインスタレーション [Rust Beat] を展示しました。
Asahi Kasei Corp. will collaborate with “Sabi Washi” (rust paper) creator Sakuho Ito in holding “ReBORN”, an art exhibition that expresses biodegradable nonwoven fabric which is made mainly from PLA (polylactic acid) as a decaying beauty. The title of the exhibit, “ReBORN”, combines the term “Reborn” with its use as an acronym for “Regeneration Beyond Our Rust Notion”, and this concept is being proposed as a part of a new 4R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, ReBORN) as opposed to the traditional 3R.
